Welcome to the Small Repair Forum, where we discuss repairability and DIY of common repairs.
Over time with use, the spring action of the hand faucet gets stuck making it difficult to turn off the water.
The issue is that the rubber o rings inside the mechanism need some lubrication.
Step 1 - Open the top cover
Unscrew the top cover. Keep the washers safely.
Step 2 - Open the brass cylinder
To open the brass cylinder inside, first push the cylinder inside with your finger or a screw driver (shown by the left arrow) and the slide the handle upwards (shown by the up arrow)
Once the handle comes off, you can easily remove the brass cylinder.
Step 3 - Clean and lubricate
Take a cloth and clean the surface of the cylinder. If there are salt deposits, use a fine sandpaper to gently scrape it off. Be careful not to damage the rubber rings. Use grease or oil to lubricate the rings. Silicon based lube will be better.
Step 4 - Reassemble the parts
Put everything back together in the reverse order of the disassembly. You should now have a smooth operation of the hand faucet.
