Summary

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has mixed repairability with a few thoughtful design choices offset by several difficult repair steps. The battery connector and battery are relatively easy to access and Samsung includes pull tabs to help with battery removal which improves serviceability. However adhesive is heavily used on both the back cover and batteries increasing repair difficulty and risk during disassembly. Accessing internal components often requires removing delicate parts first including the main foldable screen and the secondary display to reach the second battery making many repairs complex and risky. Plastic covers over the boards add extra disassembly steps and replacing the foldable inner screen is especially challenging due to its fragile design.
