The iPad Air 13 shows limited repairability overall. The use of strong adhesive for both the back cover and battery complicates disassembly and reassembly requiring careful heating and prying. Accessing the battery is particularly challenging since several internal components must be removed first and the initial step of removing the screen adds risk due to its delicate nature. In addition metal plates covering cable connectors increase labor and time during repairs. However the inclusion of battery pull tabs does provide a small advantage making battery removal slightly easier once reached.
